This diet in particular is designed for people who desire to lose weight as well as being highly recommended for people who run the risk of developing diabetes.


Weight Watchers. One of the best known diets in the weight loss industry is exclusively designed for people to lose weight which functions on a point system. Foods are attributed values which must not exceed a daily total, but at the same time being flexible.


The Pritikin diet is a low-fat and high-carbohydrate diet plan, which focuses on vegetables, fruit, and high-fiber grains. Fats can be consumed but only if they do not exceed 10% of total daily calories. The South Beach diet is a newer high-protein, low carbohydrate, and fat-controlled diet plan for men. It is also a phase based diet, which helps with removing food cravings from the system, but also helping the body lose weight during the first phase, the second phase is designed for long term weight loss, while the third and final phase means that within a year you will achieve the weight loss goals you have set.

The alkaline diet has been promoted through celebrities and involves the idea that our modern day diets cause our body to produce more amounts of acid than usual. The theory presumes that this excess acid in our body turns into fat, causing us to gain weight. High acidity levels have also been blamed on conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, tiredness, kidney and liver disorders. The diet implies cutting down on acid foods such as meat, wheat and other grains, refined sugar, dairy products, caffeine, alcohol and processed foods in favor of “alkaline foods”, which reduce the body’s acidity levels, meaning many fruit and vegetables. Since there are more versions of this diet available, most of the followers choose to take up the “80/20 rule” (80% fruits and vegetables and 20% grains and protein). The Cambridge Weight Plan is a fast paced weight loss system. It involves six flexible diet plans ranging from 415 calories to 1,500 calories or more a day, being suited to any kind of weight loss goal. Bars, soups, porridges and shakes can be used as the only source of nutrition or be combined with low-calorie meals.
